Castle Pines Vibes


A relatively new city (circa 2007) and home to about 11k residents, Castle Pines is made up of mostly new-build homes. Rated one of the best places to live in all of Colorado according to niche.com, it boasts some of the best schools in Colorado and has fantastic outdoor spaces. Although there aren’t a ton of conveniences in terms of shops and restaurants, the other positives make up the difference!


Castle Pines is home to a number of gated communities. But it’s also a quiet, friendly neighborhood suburb!


Home Price Statistics

Castle Pines home prices are fairly high, with a median list price of about $800k. If you’re looking to get into a single family home, you can expect prices to range from about $600k on the low end and get up to about $5 million pretty quickly on the higher end.


89% of residents in Castle Pines own a home, only 11% rent. Also, there is a lack of diverse housing stock, as it’s primarily new-build homes and very few condo/townhome options.



Pros + Cons


Pros:

  • Great outdoor spaces, incredible views

  • Great schools - some of the best schools in Colorado

  • Very low crime, quiet neighborhoods

  • Some of the most impressive homes I’ve seen in Colorado


Cons:

  • Somewhat cookie cutter

  • Pricey (around $800k median sale price)

  • Neighborhoods can feel a bit claustrophobic - cul-de-sacs everywhere

  • Lack of cultural/cool spots and even a bit removed from a fair amount of suburban conveniences

  • A bit off the beaten path - about 30 minutes to Denver with no traffic and further from the airport
